Dr. Thakker of ENTS Invited by the Government of India's Ministry of Communication and IT
Dr. Thakker presents three sessions at the invitation-only conference held in New Delhi, India.

Dr. Rikin Thakker of the Master's in Telecommunications Program was invited to speak at the Ministry of Communication and IT's first National Conference on Spectrum Management in New Delhi, India on January 6th and 7th, 2016. The seminar was inaugrated by the minister of C&IT, Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad. The conference brought together key policy makers from the Department of Telecom (DoT) and Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). The invitation-only event was also attended by Indian cellular operators like Airtel and OEMs like Nokia and Qualcomm.
Dr. Thakker presented three sessions and provided technical overview on the following topics:
1. Spectrum: Importance, Utilization, Valuation and Scarcity
2. Wi-Fi: A novel technology which helps the Licensed Spectrum
3. Small Cells, 5G and HetNets: Future of Mobile Broadband Infrastructure
Dr. Thakker is currently conducting research on Spectrum Allocation and Utilization for Mobile Broadband using System Dynamics Techniques. The project has been funded by NSF's EARS (Enhancing Access to the Radio Spectrum) program. Details of the funded research can be found here.
