Welcome Back! We are excited for the new semester to begin!
The ENTS Program Office will hold a New Student Welcome and Orientation to kick off the start of the new semester for incoming students. This session is mandatory for students who are beginning the program. This will provide you with an introduction to the ECE Department, program leadership, TSAN, and an overview of the program. You will also hear presentations about student services and degree planning.

The Scholarly Paper Topic Approval form is due Friday, September 18, 2015.
If you are graduating this semester, you must also submit the Approved Program Form. If you have already completed, the Scholarly Paper, only the Approved Program form is required at this time.
Both forms can be found at www.telecom.umd.edu/forms-and-deadlines.
Notes: If you had your topic approved in a previous semester, you do not need to resubmit the Topic Approval Form. If you are changing topics, then you need to resubmit.

This even provides students an opportunity to meet with employers to discuss internship and full-time and part-time opportunities. Each day has different employers so students should plan ahead. Make sure to dress professionally and bring multiple copies of your polished resume!
The A. James Clark School of Engineering annual Engineering Community Picnic will take place on Thursday September 10 from 3:00 to 5:00pm on the Kim Engineering Plaza. This is a rain or shine event.
Tickets are required, but no cost to students. Pick up your ticket at the Front Desk in 1131 Glenn L. Martin Hall. Bring your student ID.
The picnic will include food, music, and engineering bingo! Learn about our student societies, corporate sponsors, and departments.
Mahesh Naidu, a second year ENTS student, is currently completing a summer internship as a System Integration Testing intern with Verizon. Over the summer, over 350+ interns from across the country were interviewed about their internship experiences. Mahesh's interview was selected to be featured on Verizon's LinkedIn pages. These pages have over 510,000 followers. We congratulate Mahesh on his accomplishments with ENTS thus far and his internship this summer at Verizon!
Drs. Rikin Thakker and Michael Dellomo of the Master's in Telecommunications Program were invited to attend the Wireless Industry Workforce Development Summit held at the White House on July 15, 2015. The summit brought together leaders from the wireless industry, the Federal government and higher education to collaborate and set direction for advancing training, apprenticeship and diversity efforts needed to meet wireless industry workforce needs.
