The 2009-10 TSAN Board

President

soute [at] umd [dot] edu

One of the standout factors of the Telecommunication program at the University of Maryland is the fact that it is interdisciplinary in nature which allows using the resources of the University to its maximum potential and being a part of Telecommunications Student and Alumni Network gives us the opportunity to identify areas that could make ENTS a more fulfilling program. My aim as the President of Telecommunications Student and Alumni Network would be not only to organize events, workshops and seminars that would be of help in the professional world but also build a stronger and closer relationship with the Alumni and members of the Telecommunication industry. Collectively our goal is to enhance the experience of being a graduate student at the University of Maryland at College Park and make it the best two years of our life!

ENTS is a very ambitious course and it sets a stage to provide students with the professional skills needed to advance a successful career in Telecommunications. As the Director of Student Affairs, my primary role is to provide a strong communication channel between the ENTS students and the Program Office and assist in resolving student concerns and issues. Also my responsibilities include keeping ENTS students enthusiastic about learning and contributing in addition to general administration. Every term, very talented and enthusiastic students join this Interdisciplinary program and contribute to the diversity of the program. TSAN is by the Students, for the students and of the students and that opens up a recognized platform to get involved in various technical and managerial activities in addition to pure academic coursework. With 4 years of corporate experience in the Telecommunications industry including 2 years of stint at Wireless technology pioneer Qualcomm, ENTS and TSAN is an opportunity for me to interact with new people, brainstorm on varied topics in wireless and networking technologies with additional dosage of Telecommunications Marketing and Strategy principles.
