Hello everyone,

It gives me immense pleasure to inform you that TSAN has been awarded the "Outstanding Organization of the Year Award 2008". This was a part of the 3rd Annual Student Organization Reception and Employer Networking Dinner, which was held yesterday. We were awarded this award based on the poster we presented.

Apart from the TSAN Board, Director of Industry Affairs Brian Coombe and ex-President Kaustubh Jagtap were also a part of this event. It was a great opportunity to publicize about TSAN and ENTS program.

Here's what the President had to say: "It has truly been a great networking experience for TSAN. This event has given us a great opportunity to spread awareness about TSAN and its activities and also about the potential that ENTS students bring to an employer. It was a different experience from the one during career fairs. Not only did we publicize what our organization does, but we also got to learn about the activities of various other student organizations all over campus. The best part was the "Outstanding Organization of the Year Award". It was an honor to receive it and raise the word of "Telecommunications Students and Alumni Network" in front of over 200 attendees, including the University Career Canter staff, Employers and various other student organizations. I strongly encourage the upcoming board to participate in such activities and spread awareness about TSAN and the ENTS program".

For me, it was also a great opportunity to learn from the employers why they value student leaders. Some of them responded with: "they possess the ability to maximize the talent of others and develop an environment of excellence with the ability to enroll, inspire and engage others", "being able to leverage diversity of thought to provide the best results", "those who take a leadership role to drive a process, those who mentor others who bring less experience to the table, and those who are effective communicators in familiar and unfamiliar settings; these are the qualities that we look for in any student we pursue for employment" etc.

In all, a great experience.
Pictures coming soon.
